چکیده
Neuropathies involving the brachial plexus, phrenic, recurrent laryngeal, and saphenous nerves, as well as the sympathetic chain are complications of cardiac surgery. The reported frequency of nerve injuries varies from 1.5% to 24% for the brachial plexus and 10% to 60",,6 for the phrenic nerve (1-5). Neuropathies of the recurrent laryngeal, lower limb (saphenous) nerves, and the sympathetic chain are less frequent.

Peripheral nerve injuries during sports-related operative interventions are rare complications, but the associated morbidity can be substantial. Early diagnosis, efficient and effective evaluation, and appropriate management are crucial to maximizing the prognosis, and a clear and structured algorithm is therefore required. We describe the surgical conditions and interventions that are commonly...

Prevention is essential for avoiding the complications of muscle hematomas (pseudotumors, compartment syndromesand peripheral nerve lesions) in hemophilic patients. Ultrasound-guidedpercutaneous drainage could be benefi...
متن کاملNeuropathic pain after bilateral sagittal split osteotomy: management and prevention
Neuropathic pain is characterized by spontaneous and provoked pain and other signs reflecting neural damage. Aberrant regeneration following peripheral nerve lesions leaves neurons unusually sensitive and prone to spontaneous pathological activity, abnormal excitability and heightened sensitivity to stimuli. This review covers the current understanding of neuropathic pain after bilateral sagitt...
